North Piddle to Inkberrow

E(36)         Face St Michael Church at North Piddle and go L for some 80 paces into residential property driveway "Swallow Barn". Go ahead up drive to find path leading to lawn. Go 1/2 R over lawn to take hedge archway stile to enter adjacent property. Follow hedge R to exit by stile.

E(37)         Go 1/4 L up field to find mid fence stile. Carefully cross stile [SAFETY] and go 1/2 L to find field corner gate. Through gate and go with hedge L to take corner gate. Go 1/2 L up field towards tower of Flyford Flavell church. Exit field by right hand of two stiles. 

E(38)         Go ahead 30 paces and take gap in fence to enter paddock. Go ahead to pass between two dew pond to take stile, and ahead to take further stile. Go ahead to pass between house on your R and tennis court on your L to come to driveway. Cross driveway and take stile into churchyard; pass front entrance of church. A tarmac footpath takes you round the church to a kissing gate, and onto the road at Flyford Flavell.

E(39)         Turn R. Come to a road junction on which the pub, The Boot,  stands. Proceed straight across the road junction and follow the road. Pass speed de-restriction sign and after some 40 paces take stile L.

E(40)         Go ahead with fence R across field to find stile. Cross stile and go ahead with hedge L. The village of Kington can be seen on the hill to your R. At the end of the field take stile [SAFETY] some 20 paces to R of gateway.

E(41)         Go directly across centre of field to find stile. Cross stile [SAFETY] most carefully and go ahead over next field, passing dew pond R, to come to mid hedge fence stile. 

E(42)         Take stile and go R to follow round field edge with hedge R. Ignore path R over stream, but continue to follow round field with hedge R to corner gap leading to road.

E(43)         Crossing the road go slightly to the R and cross over stile. Go R and pass  house on R to find hedge stile slightly L of field corner.

E(44)         Cross stile, go ahead, pass to R of area of  young trees and exit field by gateway. Continue straight ahead and after about 40 paces cross double stile into field with area used for horse jumping. The footpath goes diagonally across the horse jumping area to a stile in fence (which the owners say they will put in shortly.

E(45)         In next field go ½ R and cross double stile. Go ¼ L to left-hand corner field stile. Take stile and go ahead under power cables to far bottom left hand field corner. Some 30 paces to L take double stile forming a bridge over stream. Go ½ R across field to gateway onto road (A422).

E(46)         Opposite is a minor road to Dormston. Turn R on A422 and walk towards Inkberrow. After about ½ mile watch for wooden footpath sign on L. Cross fence stile and go down fairly steep steps to edge of field.

E(47)         Go with hedge R. Watch for stile and bridge R over a stream. Take bridge and in field go ahead to aim R of tower on the hill. 

E(48)         At far end of field take stile by tree that is about 60 paces L of  right-hand corner of the field. 

E(49)         Cross stile and bridge over small stream.  Continue ½ L across field to far corner stile 

E(50)         Cross stile and go ½ R to farm buildings. Pass under power lines and go with fence R to find mid fence metal gate leading to farm driveway. Go through gate onto driveway, after 50 paces turn L. Just before last cattle shed go L to pass round two sides of shed to corner fence stile at back of shed leading into field.

E(51)         Cross fence stile and go diagonally across field to opposite corner and exit by fence stile onto road. Go R to crossroads.

E(52)         At the crossroads go L into Withybed Lane. After about 250 paces take footpath R up steps to alleyway between properties, to stile into field. Go with hedge R. Pass to the R of barns and go through double metal gates to find farm track. Kissing gate ahead leads to Tuer Way, Inkberrow.

 

Inkberrow to North Piddle

(W191)   Stand on farm track with back to kissing gate at the end of Tuer Way, Inkberrow. Go ahead through double metal gates opposite and pass to L of the metal barns. Go with hedge L to stile. Cross stile into alleyway between properties to road.

(W192)   On road turn L and proceed to crossroads. At crossroads turn R into Broadclose Lane.  Immediately after last house on L take fence stile L into field. Go diagonally down field to opposite corner and exit by fence stile to R of barns. Go L round two sides of cattle shed then R to farm driveway. Go R to gate leading into field. Go ¾ L to find mid fence stile some 50 paces from left-hand corner.

(W193)   Cross stile and go diagonally L across field to far corner. Take double stile and bridge over stream.

(W194)   Go L with hedge L. At the corner of the field head through covered entrance to stile, reached by steep bank with steps. This leads to the main road (A422). Turn R on the road and proceed for about ½ mile to road junction. Minor road to R goes to Dormston. Take metal gate to field on L opposite this road.

(W195)   In field go ½ R towards R of buildings on horizon to find double stile and bridge over stream. Cross bridge, go 1/2 R up field under power lines to find stile.

(W196)   Cross stile and go 1/4 L across narrow field to take double stile with plank bridge. Go 1/2 L to mid field gate in the top fencing. Go through the gate and walk round edge of horse jumping area, turning R in front of stables. Continue past area to double stile with a plank bridge. Cross stiles and in the next field walk directly across to and through open gateway.

(W197)   Proceed directly ahead, keeping fence enclosing tree growing area to R to find stile. Cross stile and continue ahead with house to L to exit by far L corner metal stile to road. Go directly across road and follow footpath sign into field. Go with hedge L to top of field.

(W198)   Find stile some 20 paces in from L corner. Cross stile [SAFETY] into the next field and continue directly ahead across the field. In the L hand corner of the field is a fenced off pond and the stile is adjacent and to R of pond.

(W199)   Cross this stile [SAFETY] with care and proceed over centre of field towards mid hedge gateway. Cross double stile to left of gateway and continue ahead with hedge to R. At the end of the field there is a stile, go over  stile and cross narrow field with fence L. Cross stile onto minor road, turn R and walk into Flyford Flavell.

(W200)   Continue past road junction and the Boot Inn to the Church. At the church turn L through the kissing gate. On entering the churchyard follow the tarmac footpath round to the front entrance of the church. Pass the entrance and cross graveyard to stile. Go over stile to driveway.

(W201)   Cross driveway and walk ahead with tennis court on R and house on L to electrified stile. Go with fence L to electrified stile into paddock. Pass between dew ponds and go up field with fence R to find metal gate.

(W202)   Pass through the metal gate to fence stile on R. Take stile and go ½ L across field to far corner stile.

(W203)   Cross stile and go straight ahead with hedge R. Exit field through gap in hedge. Go ¼ L to mid fence stile.  

(W204)   Take stile [SAFETY] and go ½ L towards edge of field. Then follow fence to end of field keeping fence L. Cross stile into garden of black and white timber framed house. Go L round edge of garden and exit by archway and stile into adjacent property. Go ½ R over lawn to garden path leading to driveway and road. Turn R on road to St Michael Church on L.
